Have you considered your IT strategy for 2017?
It can be difficult to put together an IT strategy and can be an overlooked part of a small businesses business plan. If you haven’t put together your IT strategy yet or you are feeling stressed over it then we are here to help!
We have put together 5 points to consider when creating your IT strategy!
Number 1. Focus
The focus of your IT strategy should be in line with your company values and support the rest of your business plan. You should be clear on what you are trying to achieve and how your technology can help you to reach the end goal.
Number 2. Hardware
You should consider the state of your hardware, this includes the age, the machines which are causing issues and if necessary, make plans to replace your hardware.
Number 3. Staff and Training
Staffing changes can mean that you need to make changes to your network, whether it is adding a new member to the team or removing them then you should think about the impact that this has on your IT needs.
Further to this, sometimes your staff need training and if you think that your team might need some training then you may need to budget time, resources or money to this.
Number 4. Projects
This is point to consider is predominantly about new technology, are you considering moving to VoIP? Implementing a full technology upgrade? Moving offices? Then this is the time to plan the finer points including when, how and how much.
Number 5. Costs and budgeting
IT is often underfunded: this is not through neglect but a lack of planning. Thinking about your IT budget for the year is important and you should consider your monthly outgoings, project costs and account for the unexpected.
ITC produce quarterly reviews for all customers and a yearly review which considers all of the above. We also offer our care plan customers a customer review meeting once a year (more often if you want it), this is an opportunity to discuss your IT requirements, plans and strategy.
