Important information regarding Hosted Exchange and Windows XP
Microsoft has not supported Windows XP with security updates since April 8, 2014. To this effect, the operating system has been vulnerable to malicious software and outside threats since this date. We understand that a minority of our customers are still using Windows XP and so we have continued to support the use of our Hosted Exchange on Windows XP.
However, as of 28th February 2017 Hosted Exchange will no longer be supported on Windows XP. In order to protect our customers since Microsoft support ended, Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 use triple data encryption standard (3DES) to secure any incoming or outgoing emails. 3DES has been the highest available encryption method compatible with XP. Unfortunately, 3DES is no longer the most secure solution and is now vulnerable to attacks.
Due to this, customers using our Hosted Exchange mailboxes on their Windows XP machines will no longer be supported as of the 28th of February.
We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. We have prevented upheaval for as long as possible but unfortunately we cannot avoid this change any longer.
