Meet Tom – our new Apprentice IT Technician!
Hello, my name is Tom Hicks and I’m the new Apprentice IT technician at ITC. I have always wanted to start to a career in IT and I feel that joining ITC to provide small business computer support will be a perfect way to kick start my ambition.
What I have learnt as an Apprentice IT technician
I have learnt so much so quickly and I’m really grateful for the help that I have received so far, I had never expected to have achieved so much already. In my first week I have learnt about e-mail configuration, server monitoring and all other aspects of offsite and onsite technical support. Once I have finished my apprenticeship I hope to continue working with ITC, as an IT support technician.
Helping customers with IT support from the very beginning
Recently I have been doing work for a customer, Jan Zawada. I set up his hosting package and I integrated wordpress into the website. Also I provided technical support to him remotely and supported with any issues that he was having; Jan was impressed with my response speed and the service that I provided him so I have already been given my first testimonial as an Apprentice IT Technician. Thank you Jan!
How I get on with the rest of the team
I enjoy working with my colleagues, mainly to the relaxed friendly atmosphere which is in place. I felt very welcome on my first day, I am grateful to be working with such talented individuals.
Outside of my work life, I play football and I like to keep fit by going to the gym regularly. This keeps me motivated and determined, this boosts my performance to ensure I am working to the best of my ability providing IT support.
